Ice Cream Social Game for Saturday

BUNKER HILL — Paynes Chapel and Rest United Methodist Churches will host an ice cream party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at Ridgeway Church Hall, at the corner of US 11 and Specks Run Road. A variety of homemade ice cream, chili dogs and other items will be available.

Pancake Breakfast for Saturday

SHEPHERDSTOWN – A pancake breakfast will be held at New Street United Methodist Church, on the corner of New and Church Streets in Shepherdstown, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday. The menu includes pancakes (from zero), bacon, sausage, sausage sauce (from zero), scrambled eggs, applesauce, coffee, tea, juice. Cost for adults: $10 and children (4 to 12 years old) $5.

The concert will take place on Saturday

HEDGESVILLE — The Elvis-God and Country Concert featuring Kevin Booth will take place Saturday at 6 p.m. at Michael’s Chapel Pavilion, 844 Michael’s Chapel Road, Hedgesville. A voluntary offering will be taken. Bring lawn chairs. For more information, call 304-258-2563.

Pastor Appreciation Sunday and Return Picnic

HEDGESVILLE – Hedgesville Presbyterian Church, 202 East Main St. Hedgesville, will hold its Pastor Appreciation Sunday and Homecoming Picnic on Sunday. During their 11-hour worship, they will honor and thank their past and present pastors, preachers and worship leaders. After worship, they will gather for their annual homecoming picnic. The 2022 annual “Cuisine with a Cause” gala will take place on Monday

MARTINSBURG – The annual “Kitchen with a Cause” Community Gala supporting the mission of Eastern West Virginia’s Catholic charities will be held Monday, September 12 at the Holiday Inn, 301 Foxcroft Ave., Martinsburg. City attire required. Spaghetti dinners will resume in September

MARTINSBURG — Calvary United Methodist Church, located at 220 W. Burke St., will again host spaghetti dinners beginning Friday, Sept. 16, from 5-7 p.m. The menu includes spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, drinks and homemade desserts. Friends and family are welcome. The cost is $8 per person, kids ages 4-12 pay $4 and kids under 4 eat free. Spaghetti dinners are held on the third Friday of each month from September to May; except December.

Pastor’s Appreciation and Homecoming Picnic for Sunday

HEDGESVILLE – The Hedgesville Presbyterian Church Pastors Appreciation and Homecoming Picnic will be held on Sunday, September 11. Their return picnic will begin immediately after worship. Revival will be September 18-20

MARTINSBURG – Vanville Church of Christ, 11 Classic Vanville Road, Martinsburg, will host a revival September 18-20 featuring the Dave Melton Family Singers. A free community lunch and clothes closet will be held on September 21

GERRARDSTOWN — Gerrardstown United Methodist Church, located at 1781 Gerardstown Road, Route 51W, will host a free community lunch and clothes closet on Sept. 21. Lunch will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or while supplies last. The menu will consist of baked pasta, salad, bread and cookies.

The clothes closet will be open at the same time and also from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The closet is accepting fall clothes right now.

The Pikeside UMC Fall Fling Charity Auction and Vendor’s Fair will take place September 23-24

MARTINSBURG – Pikeside UMC in Martinsburg will hold its annual “Fall Fling” dig sale on Friday and Saturday, September 23 and 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and its “Fall Fling” vendor fair and bake sale on Saturday; September 24. All proceeds from this event will benefit the many missions and ministries of Pikeside. Outdoor spaces will be made available to the public for $30/day and refreshments will be available. IBC to Host Women’s Conference October 1

MARTINSBURG – Independent Bible Church (IBC) is hosting a women’s conference on October 1, with nationally recognized speaker Lisa Pulliam.

The one-day conference will focus on transformation. Pulliam empowers women to take charge of their own life transformation by engaging in a meaningful relationship with God and His Word. The conference will include Pulliam as keynote speaker, music, testimonials, door prizes and a morning break with coffee/tea and pastries, plus an optional lunch.

Through stories, Bible applications, assessments, thought-provoking questions, and life coaching principles, Pulliam guided women through a time of self-reflection, praise, and change.

MARTINSBURG — Second Baptist, located on High Street in Martinsburg, is reopening its clothes closet from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at 913 N. St., Martinsburg. It will distribute food baskets on the third Thursday of the month.

WACC clothing closet offered every Thursday

MARTINSBURG — The Winchester Avenue Christian Church Clothes Closet is open from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the first and third Thursdays of July, August, and September, with free clothes for men, women, and children.
