Coronavirus: Five Spice restaurant offers free meals for seniors in self-isolation
AN Indian restaurant in Belbroughton is offering free meals to seniors who are self-isolating during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Five Spice Restaurant on Stourbridge Road will offer a starter, main course and rice to seniors living alone at home.
A statement from Five Spice said, “In light of the effects of COVID-19, our thoughts are especially with the elderly and vulnerable who may need to self-isolate to take precautions.
“We therefore want to offer a free meal to any elderly person who is isolating themselves.
“We only ask that they call us, speak to our manager to place their order and ask their relative / friend to come and collect the meal.
“We will be happy to deliver if we have a driver available.
“Together we can overcome this. Unity and compassion.”
The restaurant recently launched an app for its customers which can be found here.
After the government decreed Friday night that all restaurants were to close until further notice, Five Spice closed and only offers take-out and delivery service.
But the restaurant confirmed via social media that it will still offer free meals to the elderly or vulnerable.
