Every Item on the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Menu, Ranked
As we enter September, food and drink brands waste no time in telling us that summer is officially more. And while I’m kicking and screaming into this next season, there’s a small upside to switching from summer to fall: autumnal the flavours. Like Linus waiting for the Gsheave Pumpkin to appear, cult fans of Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte can finally celebrate the return of this must-have autumn drink, as well as a sequel other pumpkin flavor additions to the menu.
TodayAugust 30, Starbucks is out its annual linepure fall vibes, according to a press release sent to The takeaway. The fall 2022 menu includes the Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato and a new Owl Cake Pop, but due to the popularity of PSL, it’s a pumpkin-dominated menu. We tasted all of this year pumpkin stuff—tno pumpkin drinks and three pumpkins pastries and classified them from worst to best below.
5. Pumpkin Cream Cold Infusion
The Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cold brew consists of cold brew coffee and vanilla syrup topped with a cold pumpkin cream mousse and a pumpkin spice glaze. Unfortunately, this ice cold drink is not worth trudging through the fallen leaves to.
Although cold foam provides a strong and sweet touch of pumpkin spice essence in those first sipsthe foam is sucked up rather early, leaving you with rightforward vanilla cold infusion. That’s not to say vanilla cold brew isn’t tasty; it just doesn’t scream”to fall” as strong as that vsold. I am still sittingng in the pumpkin patch awaiting the arrival of the Great Pumpkin.
4. Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin
The pumpkin cream cheese muffin was the most disappointing item on the fall menu, not because it wasn’t delicious (it was) but because, in terms of outstanding fall flavors, it was disappointing. The muffin is made of a spiced pumpkin cake with a cream cheese center filling and the chopped pepitas.
The combination looked like the most promising of the rangeand it was definitely moist and lightbut was only slightly spicy, on the edge of bland, especially in comparison to other food products.
Added cream cheese some flavor and texture muffin variety, but the filling is not as deep in the muffin like I thought. When I sliced it, the cream cheese looked like it was mostly sitting on top. The seeds that garnish the muffin fdidn’t add much crunchy texture to offset the cakethere nature of the muffin itself.
3. Pumpkin Nugget Bread
The Starbucks Pumpkin & Pepita bread, although vvery emblematic of autumn, is in fact offered all year round at the coffee chain. The bread is made with spiced pumpkin bread and topped with pepita seeds. Sound familiar?
Yes, in terms of ingredients, texture and flavor, the look of bread and muffin almost the same, minus the spoonful of muffins Cream cheese. The bread is dense and very soft, who makes it more filling than the muffin, and the bread is more strongly spiced too, evident from it’s deeper Color. If the bread contained cream cheese, it would even be graded higher on the listing.
Although the bread is a strong contender to be a fall favorite, it’s available year-round, which takes away some of the excitement..
2. Pumpkin Scones
I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed the scone. Starbucks rightforward describe this offer as “a pumpkin spice scone topped with a sweet frosting – a wonderfully flavorful fall treat. Perhaps it’s its simplicity that sets it apart from other pumpkin offerings.
The scone was closer to bread than cake (unlike the two the bread and muffin). It made for a less rubbery bite, but it was still wet enough to enjoy. The icing was also just sweet enough and thin enough to balance with the earthier pumpkin spice profile real scone. This is exactly the type of candy I’d like to bite into a steaming cup of cider in a pumpkin patch. I could even wear flannel. That’s how this scone looks like fall.
1. Pumpkin Spice Latte
We just have to admit that sSometimes you can’t beat the original. The Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, the PSL, reigns supreme in its encapsulation of the most flannel-draped autumn enthusiasm—it’s an embodiment of everything we look forward to at this time of year.
With a table full of half-eaten pumpkins, it’s the one I came back to the most. I came back for one sip after another, and before long I had ended; I left over half the Pumpkin Cream VSold Brew sitting in his cup.
At this point my body is filled with too much fall, and August isn’t even officially over. I don’t want anything pumpkin spice for at least a few weeks, otherwise I risk drowning in autumn vibes. Again, I can hear this Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato calling my name. It would probably go great with a Pumpkin Scone.
