Gibson gears up for Chicago as housewares powerhouse

CHICAGO- Along with a host of new products, Gibson Homewares will officially unveil its new name and revamped website at The Inspired Home Show here later this week.

After being known as Gibson Overseas for decades, the Commerce, Calif.-based company announced a name change last fall to Gibson Homewares to reflect an expanding product assortment. beyond the table.

At the show, Gibson will showcase new pieces from Babish and Tina Mowry, as well as an all-new Sur la Table collection.

The Sur la Table collection includes cookware, cutlery and cookware, as well as table tops, serving utensils and food storage.

According to Nicklin, the collection aims to expand the brand beyond select Sur La Table retail stores and into the most popular retail channels across the country, and is aimed at “home chefs with refined taste.” for high-end household items. According to Gibson, durable and versatile enamel cast iron cookware is one of the hottest trends in housewares.

Gibson also introduces a stainless steel pizza scale and cast iron cookbook stand with a Babish line logo silhouette.

Spicy Cloves, meanwhile, is a new line of decorated borosilicate glass cookware with oven-to-table appeal from the Spice by Tia Mowry collection. With this set, Gibson is taking advantage of a spike in recent sales of decorated glass cookware.

“I love Spice because it’s fun, fresh and globally inspired,” said Gibson Homewares SVP of Creative Laurie Gates.

In cookware, Gibson is launching the Kenmore Wyatt 5-Piece Multifunction Set in response to market demand for efficient, functional, and affordable cookware that doesn’t take up a lot of storage space. The set is crafted from heavy-gauge aluminum in a compact design that nests completely inside the 12 x 11 inch grill pan. The set includes stainless steel mesh inserts – a frying basket and a steamer plate – and a tempered glass lid. The versatile grill pan doubles as a casserole with a lid that’s held firmly in place by magnets hidden inside the ergonomic cast-iron handle.

Gibson is also introducing Soho Lounge glassware, an extension of its popular Soho dinnerware line, and Urban Solo, a responsive 12-piece dinnerware set in a round shape, an alternative to the existing soft square shape the line is known for.
