Introducing the new finish Templeton Rye Oloroso Sherry Cask

San diego, california – Templeton Distillery, an award-winning, state-of-the-art distillery producing high-quality rye whiskey, announces the third expression of its Cask Finish series, Templeton Rye Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish.

Templeton’s limited edition barrel finish series offers a unique annual twist to what rye can be. An outlet for innovation, this limited edition American upright rye whiskey was originally matured to perfection for a minimum of six years in first fill flame charred American oak barrels. The whiskey was then expertly finished in the finest oloroso sherry casks for an additional nine months. The 500-liter Sherry Oloroso barrels were meticulously sourced from the Marco de Jerez region of Spain and once contained dry, full-bodied Oloroso sherry between eight and twenty years old. The extra maturing time spent in the oloroso sherry casks accentuates the rye spice while adding subtle and alluring flavors, tropical fruit tones and nutty aromas.

Previous expressions of Templeton’s Barrel Finish series include Templeton Rye Maple Cask Finish and Templeton Rye Caribbean Rum Cask Finish. Following the success of these limited editions, the distillery knew that quality was key with Templeton Rye Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish and wanted to ensure that their third maturation would result in the sherry notes and exotic flavors envisioned in the whiskey.
