Opening in the heart of Moonee Ponds, Convoy is the collective opening of the team of Twilight Terror, DIY and Hifi stereo.
Melbourne’s three hospitality veterans, Ben Argentino, Bec Moore and Kieren Spiteri, have set their sights on the suburbs in 2021 and quietly built this future coffee titan.
Convoy is an amalgamation of the three spots, they incorporate the knowledge and notoriety the team has developed for flavor-centric dishes into the brand new menu. Leading the culinary direction will be the Executive Chef Dale Kempwho took charge of very good things in all the collective places.
At Convoy, you can expect twists on classic dishes from Tinker, Terror Twilight and Hi-Fi, as well as exclusive new dishes. says Kemp
Bat highlights include the shrimp roll with celery, pickled onions and iceberg lettuce, it’s served in a fluffy milk bun with tabasco and chives scattered on top.
Returning to the famous hot buns from Terror Twilights, Convoy offers their own cinnamon sweet potato pancakes with a cinnamon caramel cream cheese frosting that is sure to impress.
The drink menu is extensive and includes nearly every coffee option available for teas, cold-pressed juices, and smoothies. There’s even a selection of cocktails from the Bloody Maria, which opts for tequila instead of the standard vodka at the Melbourne Mai Tai with Amaretto and dark rum.
Resting just on the corner of Pascoe Vale Road and The Strand, Convoy has a whitewashed exterior with a wrapped veranda awning. The whole place was beautifully designed by SEsteta studio, creating an elegant yet approachable feel to the entire space with pendant light fixtures, checkerboard floors, wood paneling, and plants throughout. It’s a breezy backdrop for early morning coffee runs or long Saturday brunches.
The convoy is open now, head over this way for more information.
