Two brands of spices recalled in Canada due to possible Salmonella contamination

[ad_1]

Premier Ingredients is recalling Premier brand and Konrads.ca brand spice products from the marketplace potentially contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. The spice products have been distributed in Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.

This recall was triggered by test results from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may result in the recall of other products. If other high risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through an updated food recall warning.
The CFIA verifies that the industry is withdrawing the recalled products from the market:

Check to see if you have recalled any products from your home. Recalled products must be discarded or returned to the store where they were purchased. Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell bad, but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems can get serious and sometimes fatal infections. Healthy people may have short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. Long-term complications can include severe arthritis.
